NovaProof
Characteristics
NovaProof is a polyurethane modified flexible
waterproofing membrane.
NovaProof is UV stable and is fast curing
allowing second coat to be applied after 1-2hrs
depending on amount applied.
NovaProof being polyurethane modified does
not require fiberglass reinforcement.
NovaProof can be used in shower recesses
bathrooms Laundries and light foot trafficable
roofs.
It can be used over concrete rendered
brickwork block work fibre cement Gyprock
and particle board surfaces.
NovaProof can be used for internal and external
applications.
NovaProof is a class III membrane and
conforms to AS/NZS4858 wet area
membranes.
Handy Tips
Do Not apply NovaProof in temperatures above
38°C and below 5°C.
NovaProof cannot be used in areas where
negative hydrostatic pressure is evident.
NovaProof cannot be immersed in water for at
least 2-5 days after application.
Ensure NovaProof is totally dry and the surface
has no pinholes prior to applying any adhesive/
coatings.

Technical Data Sheet
New Generation Building Products
Preparation
Ensure new concrete is allowed to cure for a minimum of 6 weeks in
accordance with AS 3958.1-1991.
Allow rendered surfaces to cure for a minimum of 7 days prior to tiling.
Ensure surfaces are sound dry and free from movement oil grease wax
dust and any curing and release agents.
Steel toweled finished concrete surfaces must be mechanically or
chemically abraded prior to tilling.
The concrete must not exceed 5mm in 3meters maximum variation of
plane for floors and 4mm in 2 meters for walls.
Pour primer onto floor surface and spread the primer using a brush roller
or broom ensuring the entire area is primed.
Allow primer to dry for approximately 5 minutes before commencing
waterproofing.
Mixing
NovaProof is a one part premixed product that does not require mixing.
Application
Once the substrate has been appropriately prepared in accordance with the
above instructions then.
Apply a 5mm silicone bead to all joints (contact Novatex Products for
correct silicone).
Apply the first coat of NovaProof to the primed surface using a brush or
roller.
Once first coat has dried apply a second coat of NovaProof at a 90° to
the first. This will ensure that complete coverage is achieved and no air
bubbles exist.
A third coat may be required if imperfections are present in the membrane.
A final inspection is recommended over surface to make sure no pinholes
are evident prior to tiling.
Once waterproofing is completed allow NovaProof to dry for a minimum of
24hrs at 20°C.
Applied minimum thickness for NovaProof is. 0.75mm of dry film.
Clean Up
Excess NovaProof can be cleaned from tools and equipment using water
while still wet.
Coverage
As a guide NovaProof will cover approximately 1L/m2 per coat at 1mm
thick.
Packaging/Shelf Life
NovaProof comes in a 15lt pail.
When stored in a cool dry environment and stored above ground level a
pail of NovaProof will have a shelf life of approximately 12 months.
